AREMA ADDS TWO IMPORTANT WATER MANAGEMENT PROJECTS IN CATALONIA

The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) continues to trust AREMA for the execution of important water management projects in Catalonia.

One of the latest contracts awarded is the emergency work to replace the Torrent dels Llops collector. This collector has collapsed due to the construction of the high-speed train (AVE) passing through Martorell, and the solution to be implemented by our subsidiary involves changing the collector’s route to run parallel to the stream. The length of the connection is 350 meters, and the pipe used is PVC with a diameter of 630 mm. The work has already begun, and it is estimated that the repair will be completed within a maximum period of 5 months.

Furthermore, AREMA has started the repair, adaptation, and commissioning work of the connection pipeline from the effluent pumping station of the Tarragona wastewater treatment plant to the Vila-seca emissary pumping station. The purpose of the work is to prevent the discharge of Tarragona’s sewage into the Clar River, improving the ecological state of the area. It will also enable the reuse of a large portion of the effluent at the Vila-seca tertiary treatment plant, thereby increasing the volume of regenerated water by this facility.

These new contracts related to water management are a clear example of GRUPO RUBAU’s commitment to projects that promote the circular economy through innovation, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
