AREMA STRENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE IN THE WATER SECTOR WITH THREE NEW CONTRACTS IN GIRONA AND GRANADA

AREMA has started 2025 on a strong note, consolidating its role in the integrated water cycle sector thanks to the awarding of three key projects in Catalonia and Andalusia. These contracts represent another step in the company’s commitment to sustainability and the improvement of water infrastructure.

The first contract awarded relates to the sanitation of Campelles, in the province of Girona, granted by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA). With a budget of over 2 million euros, this project involves the construction of a new sanitation system in this Pyrenean town, aimed at improving wastewater treatment and management. The new plant will treat 75 m³/day of wastewater, equivalent to a population of 375 inhabitants, and will feature secondary treatment using biodiscs and lamellar decantation, ensuring improved water quality before discharge into the Torrent del Nallo.

AREMA has also been selected to carry out the project for the WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) in Jérez del Marquesado, in the province of Granada. In this case, the contract was awarded by the Andalusian Government to a joint venture (UTE) with Grulop21. The contract, corresponding to Lot 1 of the project, has a total budget exceeding 2.3 million euros.

Lastly, the company will carry out improvement works at the DWTP (Drinking Water Treatment Plant) of Ripoll and Campdevànol, in the province of Girona, commissioned by the Municipal Water and Services Company of Ripoll. This contract, fully awarded to AREMA, is valued at over 1.5 million euros.

These new contracts confirm AREMA’s strong track record in hydraulic engineering, committed to efficient, environmentally friendly solutions aimed at improving the well-being of local communities.
